The Mushrif Park mountain bike trail network is the biggest in central Dubai: about 50 km of sand and dirt trails winding through a Ghaf forest of more than 70,000 trees. Three colour-coded levels make it easy to choose. Green suits complete beginners, Blue suits riders with some control, and Red is built for experienced riders who want climbs, drops, and wooden features.
This guide covers the Mushrif Park mountain bike trail map, each trail level, the paved cycle track, bike rental prices, timings, Mushrif Hub facilities, the 2026 bridge, rules, and a simple plan for your first ride.

Paved cycle track vs mountain bike trails
Mushrif Park has two different places to ride, and they suit very different bikes.
| Paved cycle track | Mountain bike trails | |
|---|---|---|
| Surface | Smooth asphalt | Sand and dirt |
| Length | About 4 km | About 50 km (Green, Blue, Red) |
| Bike | Road, hybrid or city bike | Mountain bike |
| Hours | Park hours: 8am–10pm (11pm on weekends) | Early morning to evening; check at Mushrif Hub |
| Best for | Easy rides, families, road cyclists | Off-road riding and skills practice |
The paved track links to the Al Khawaneej cycle track outside the park, so road cyclists can make a much longer ride. Don’t take a road bike onto the MTB trails: the soft sand will stop you within metres.
Mushrif Park cycle track map
The official trail map is on a large board at the start of the trail at Mushrif Hub. It shows every Green, Blue and Red route, the quick-return lanes and the distance of each loop. Take a photo of it on your phone before you set off. Wooden signs along the trail match the colours and numbers on the map, so you always know which route you’re on.
For a live view, open the interactive Mushrif Park trail map below. Zoom in to see each numbered Green, Blue and Red loop, then use the Trailforks app to follow your position with GPS while you ride.

About the Mushrif Park mountain bike trail
Dubai Municipality opened the first 20 km of the track (the Green and Blue routes) in October 2021, and the Red route later brought the full network to 50 km. The trail is about three metres wide, was designed to handle more than 3,000 riders a day, and more than 120 signboards mark the way.
Every route starts and ends at the same point near the main gate. Several quick-return lanes let you cut back early if you get tired or the heat picks up. In 2025 the start area became part of Mushrif Hub, and in August 2026 a new 102-metre bridge joined two trail sections. Today the ride is smoother than most older reviews online suggest.
Green, Blue and Red trails compared
| Trail | Level | Approx. distance | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Green 1 | Beginner | About 5 km loop | First-time riders, families with teens |
| Green 1 + Green 2 | Beginner | About 13.8 km | Beginners with good stamina |
| Blue loops | Intermediate | Short loops from about 0.6 km to 3 km, linkable | Riders comfortable with dips, turns and short climbs |
| Red | Advanced | About 17 km (route 1) | Experienced riders with good bike handling |
Distances are approximate, based on trail-mapping apps and rider reports. Check the map board at the start for current figures.
Green trail (beginner)

The Green trail is mostly flat, wide and flowing, with gentle bends and small dips. The short loop of about 5 km is the best first ride. If you feel good, link Green 1 and Green 2 for a longer ride of 13.8 km. Both distances are marked on the start sign. You only need basic cycling balance, not mountain bike experience.
Blue trail (intermediate)

The Blue trail is made of several short numbered loops branching off the Green route. Expect tighter corners, short steep rollers and a few drops that need confidence. Beginners often manage the first Blue loop after a Green warm-up, and walking your bike over a tricky section is completely fine. Blue #5 is one of the most-ridden segments on Strava.
Red trail (advanced)

The Red trail is for skilled riders. Route 1 is about 17 km long and has steeper climbs, faster descents and technical features such as wooden ramps and drops. Ride it only once you are comfortable on Blue, ideally on a full-suspension bike, and not alone if you are new to it.
Skills area
Next to the start is a 500-metre one-way skills area with three lanes in Green, Blue and Red. It’s the best place to practise braking, cornering and small obstacles before heading onto the main trail. Beginners and teens should start here.
Bridges and wooden features

Wooden bridges and ramps carry the trail over dips and low ground across the forest. Ride them straight, keep a steady speed and look ahead, not down. Most are wide enough for one rider at a time, so wait if someone is already on it.
The new 102-metre bridge (2026)

In August 2026, Dubai Municipality opened a 102-metre bridge on the trail network. Riders no longer have to stop and cross a road used by cars between two trail sections. The bridge has separate lanes for bikes and for hikers, and the full bridge stretch on the bike route is about 182 metres.
Mushrif Hub: where to start your ride

Mushrif Hub opened in May 2025 as the base for riders, hikers and nature lovers, and it’s the natural starting point for every MTB ride. Facilities include:
- Cafés and restaurants for coffee and a post-ride meal
- Changing rooms and showers
- A bike wash station
- A chapel
- Evening lighting, so the area stays usable after sunset
Bike rental at Mushrif Park
You don’t need your own bike. Several shops inside the park rent mountain bikes, usually with a helmet:
| Shop | What to expect |
|---|---|
| EDGE Cycling | Cannondale hardtails and IBIS full-suspension bikes, plus servicing, coffee and accessories. Rentals from around AED 60–65 per hour; opens around 6am. |
| Be Cyclist | Bike rental inside the park |
| Al Motamaiez Bicycles | Bike rental inside the park |
Tips for renting:
- Book ahead on winter weekends, when bikes run out early.
- Rental shops are at different sides of the park, so park your car near the one you booked.
- A hardtail is fine for Green and Blue. Choose full suspension for Red.
Prefer riding in a group? Dubai bike shops such as The Cycle Hub run regular MTB rides at Mushrif.
How to track your ride
The trails are well signed, but a GPS app shows where you are and how far you’ve ridden:
- Trailforks: a live map of every numbered Green, Blue and Red loop. The best app for navigating the trails.
- Strava: records your ride and shows popular segments such as Blue #5 and Green #2, so you can compare times.
- Komoot: useful for planning a route that combines the park trails with the Khawaneej cycle track.
Turn on GPS before you start at Mushrif Hub, since signal can drop under the trees.
Mushrif Park cycle track timings and fees
- Opening hours: the paved cycle track follows park hours, 8am–10pm on weekdays and 8am–11pm on weekends. The MTB trails start at Mushrif Hub; check current trail hours there. Rental shops such as EDGE Cycling open around 6am. Want to know if the park is open right now? See the live timings on our Mushrif Park guide.
- Trail fee: free. You only pay the normal park entry (AED 3 per person or AED 10 per car), paid by Nol card. Full details: Mushrif Park tickets and entry fee.
How to get to the Mushrif Park MTB trail
Mushrif Park is on Al Khawaneej Street, between Mirdif, Al Warqaa and Al Khawaneej. The MTB trails start at Mushrif Hub beside the main gate.
- By car: the easiest option, especially with your own bike.
- By bus: RTA buses run from Centrepoint Metro Bus Station (formerly Rashidiya) towards the park; check the RTA app for the current route.
- By metro and taxi: no metro station is within walking distance, so take a taxi from Centrepoint station.
Trail rules and safety
Dubai Municipality asks riders to follow these rules:
- Wear a helmet at all times, and use front and rear lights after sunset.
- Stay on the bike trail, not on pedestrian paths.
- One person per bike, unless it is built for two.
- Ride in the marked direction of each trail.
- Watch for hikers where the hiking trail crosses the bike route, and slow down at crossings.
- Carry water. Even in winter, open sections get hot by late morning.
- Don’t ride Red alone if you are new to it, and tell someone your route.
Best time to ride
The season runs from October to April. Go early in the morning (sunrise to 9am) for cool air, softer light and fewer people. From May to September, ride only at sunrise or on lit sections after dark, since summer heat makes midday riding unsafe.
Weekday mornings are the quietest. Friday to Sunday mornings are busiest with groups and rentals.
A simple first-ride plan for beginners
- Rent a bike and helmet at Mushrif Hub (book ahead on weekends).
- Warm up for 10–15 minutes in the Green lane of the skills area.
- Ride the short Green loop (about 5 km) at an easy pace.
- Feeling good? Try the first short Blue loop, and walk any section that looks tricky.
- Finish at the Hub with a shower and a coffee.
That’s about an hour on the bike, enough for a first visit without wearing yourself out.
What else to do at Mushrif Park
Make a day of it. Walk the 9.7 km hiking trail, bring children under 12 to the 1.5 km Young Rangers cycling trail, cool off at the Mushrif Park swimming pool, or browse more things to do in Mushrif Park.
Riders often spot squirrels, birds and sometimes an Arabian gazelle in the forest, especially on quiet early mornings.
